Marina Reflections
Greetings on a beautiful September morning from my studio here in Fort Bragg. I love when the world slips on its flannels and heads into the fall. Dancing leaves, pumpkin colors, crackling fires and the warmth of family gatherings begin to rub off the suntan lotion of the summer sun.
I hope this day finds you grateful and content. We are living in a swirl of uncertainty between Covid and the fires, so let me entice you into a gentle world of sunshine and sand where people embrace and paint and explore the wonders of the universe for just an enchanted moment.
This month I’m taking you once again to one of my favorite places. I feel so grateful to live by the sea. I just love it when I’m traveling through the town and the fog horn sings its haunting song, beckoning fishermen home, warning, guiding, comforting, cautioning. The sea gull cries overhead, and some brave fisherperson has set out a sign saying “Fresh Salmon at the marina.”
The marina is an enticing place to visit. It always lifts my spirits and makes me feel a little bit more alive, so this month I’m taking you there. I hope it generates the same sensation in your soul, my friend.
Small wonder that I was inspired to try my hand at a little painting of these wonders. I share with you today a painting I just finished today of a few old boats in our dear old Noyo Harbor Marina.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little exploration of our coastal delights. Thank you for joining me again this month. My heart reaches out to yours sending you blessings and comfort and much joy. Don’t forget to breathe deeply and to fill your lungs with gratitude for being alive.
